Coverage edges depend on the specific address — some neighborhoods near the 15-mile boundary fall just inside, others just outside. The Auto Lookup feature on the quote tool gives the exact distance for any address. If your location is on the edge, just ask — small fractions over the line are typically included.

Mileage examples
20 miles one-way: 5 miles beyond primary × 2 (round trip) × $2 = $20 mileage
30 miles one-way: 15 miles beyond primary × 2 × $2 = $60 mileage
40 miles one-way: 25 miles beyond primary × 2 × $2 = $100 mileage
50 miles one-way: 35 miles beyond primary × 2 × $2 = $140 mileage
Beyond DFW & Remote Sessions
When the work is farther.
In-person beyond the 12-county DFW MSA is available by individual arrangement. Common scenarios include estate signings at out-of-area senior living facilities, hospital appointments in adjacent regions, and B2B partnerships with offices outside DFW. Pricing is quoted individually based on distance, document complexity, and timing — there’s no formulaic rate beyond DFW because the considerations vary.
Remote Online Notary (RON) handles signers anywhere Texas RON is recognized — currently statewide within Texas and across most other U.S. states. The signer joins an audio-visual session from wherever they are, identification is verified electronically, and the notarial act is performed remotely. Common use cases include out-of-state real estate transactions, signers traveling for work, and documents with tight timelines that don’t allow for travel logistics.
Geographic FAQ
Common questions about coverage.
How exactly is mileage calculated?
From the 75040 zip code (Garland, Texas) to your appointment address, using standard driving directions, rounded to the nearest tenth of a mile. The first 15 miles each direction are included with no surcharge. Miles beyond that point are billed round-trip at $2 each. So a 25-mile-each-way appointment carries 10 miles beyond primary one-way × 2 directions × $2 = $40 in mileage.
What if I’m right at the 15-mile boundary?
If your appointment falls 15.0 to about 16 miles out, the practical answer is “no surcharge” — small fractions over the line are typically included rather than billed. The 15-mile boundary is a planning convenience, not a hard cliff. Locations clearly beyond the boundary (17+ miles) get the standard $2/mile pricing.
Do you ever decline an appointment based on location?
Rarely, and not based on geography alone. Far edges of the Metroplex (50+ miles each way) may carry timing constraints depending on the day’s existing schedule, but they’re not declined as a rule. Beyond the 12-county DFW MSA, in-person appointments are by arrangement — for those, RON is often the better fit. The honest answer is that location matters less than scheduling fit; if the timing works, the geography usually works.
If I’m at a hospital or facility, does the setting premium replace mileage?
No — the setting premium and mileage are separate considerations. The $35 hospital, hospice, or senior living premium covers the additional coordination involved in a facility appointment (advance arrangements, capacity considerations, navigating clinical schedules). Mileage applies on top if the facility is beyond the primary service area. Both are quoted upfront before booking.
For loan signings, does mileage apply differently?
Direct title company assignments at the flat $225 rate include mileage within the standard DFW MSA — no separate per-mile charges for typical closing locations. Marketplace assignments through signing services follow each platform’s mileage conventions. Beyond standard DFW, direct title work is quoted individually based on the specific assignment.
